Job Description for the Associate Pastor
For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12)
Role Summary: PEFC is looking for an Associate Pastor who finds joy in equipping leaders, galvanizing teams, and is competent in decision making. This person will have a primary oversight as a leader of leaders over the student ministries and a secondary oversight as a leader of leaders and support to the Lead Pastor and Board of Elders as gifted and needed to achieve the goals of the mission and vision of the church. Qualifications:
Required Competencies and Skills
Leadership skills that reflect servant-leader values, that engenders trust among staff and members with whom they regularly work. Strong interpersonal skills that enable them to provide guidance and comfort to those seeking spiritual support, particularly in times of critical need. Volunteer staff management skills that position them as their leader, mentor, and coach--the person to whom they will look for direction in their area of ministry and for direct and timely feedback on their effectiveness. Organization and administrative skills to manage the breadth of ministries under theirdirection and to maintain clear direction for those they are leading. Having a high capacity to provide faithful expository communication of the Word and a demonstrated passion for its truth.
Essential Duties and Oversight:
A. Student Ministries: Developing, casting vision for, implementing and overseeing ministry strategies and programming for Junior High and High School students.
B. Church Leadership: Assisting, developing, implementing and overseeing ministry strategies in the church as gifted and able.

Qualifications:
- Must meet the qualifications of a leader as stated in 1-2 Timothy and Titus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry experience/training preferred.
- This person must also show a motivated desire to model a life of continual learning, growth, repentance, and being a faithful follower of Christ by the grace of God.
- Must be in agreement with the EFCA Statement of Faith and the PEFC Constitution and By-Laws.

- Recruiting, training and shepherding a volunteer team.Living life together with students and families.
- Teaching regularly, but not exclusively, within the ministry.
- Develop and manage the student ministries budget and expenses.
B. Church Leadership: Assisting, developing, implementing and overseeing ministry strategies in the church as gifted and able.
Examples of Further Ministry Opportunities:
- Preaching in the Sunday worship services.
- Oversight of ministries such as Mission, Worship, Adult, Small Group, Hospitality, Care, etc.
- Overall Pastoral Care in the life of the church through weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications.
Position Details
- Full-Time: Total compensation based on education and experience.
- This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
- P.T.O as described in the PEFC Employee Handbook.
